The terms that govern your use of changeriskintel.com — content licensing, disclaimers, and acceptable use for the editorial site.

These terms of use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of changeriskintel.com (the “site”). The site is an editorial publication operated by Ennis Studio (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.

These Terms apply to the public editorial website only. They do not govern any separate product, API, or subscription service that Ennis Studio may operate on a different domain.

The site is journalism, not advice

Every article on Change Risk Intel is published as journalism and general information. It is not:

  • Not legal advice. Coverage of SOX, SOC 2, PCI, DORA, NIS2, GDPR, CCPA, or any other regulation is general reporting on how those regimes work, not legal counsel for your organization.
  • Not financial advice. Coverage of vendors, mergers, or the economic impact of outages is general reporting, not an investment recommendation.
  • Not security advice for your specific environment. Coverage of CVEs, CISA KEV entries, and Patch Tuesday is written for a general practitioner audience. Your organization’s environment, threat model, and change window are yours to evaluate.

Do not act on anything you read here without consulting appropriately qualified professionals — lawyers, auditors, security engineers, or change-management leadership — for your specific situation.

Content, copyright, and reuse

Unless otherwise noted, all editorial content on the site — including articles, illustrations, and code samples that we author — is © Ennis Studio, all rights reserved.

Reasonable, attributed excerpts for the purposes of news reporting, commentary, and analysis are permitted under the doctrine of fair use. “Attributed” means a visible mention of “Change Risk Intel” together with a working link back to the specific article. Republishing full articles, or building derivative datasets from the site’s content without permission, is not permitted. If you’d like to syndicate or license coverage, email permissions@changeriskintel.com.

Third-party trademarks — including but not limited to ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Cloudflare, GitHub, and Microsoft product names — are the property of their respective owners and are used editorially for identification only. Their appearance on this site does not imply endorsement.

Acceptable use

When using the site you agree not to:

  • Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site or its underlying infrastructure.
  • Scrape the site at a volume that materially degrades performance for other readers, or in violation of robots.txt.
  • Train machine-learning models on scraped copies of our full-text articles without a written license. Use of our content to train commercial LLMs is expressly not permitted absent a written agreement.
  • Post, via comments or any interactive feature, content that is defamatory, harassing, illegal, or that infringes another party’s rights.
  • Post exploit code, weaponized proof-of-concept material, or anything that would help an attacker rather than a defender.

We may remove content, restrict access, or ban accounts for violations of these rules.

Comments and user submissions

Where comments or discussion features are enabled (currently via GitHub Discussions), you keep ownership of what you post but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, moderate, excerpt, and archive it on the site. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of anything you submit. See our editorial policy for our community standards.

The site links to third-party sources — vendors, regulators, security authorities, and reporting from other publications. We link because those sources are useful; we do not endorse them, control them, or guarantee the accuracy or availability of anything on them. Following an outbound link is at your own risk under those sites’ own terms.

Affiliate and advertising disclosures

The site may contain affiliate links to ITSM, GRC, and other B2B tools. Where present, affiliate relationships are disclosed inline in the article. Affiliate compensation does not influence editorial coverage. Sponsored content, if any, is clearly labelled at the top of the article. Display ads are served by third-party networks (see the privacy policy for details) and are not editorial endorsements.

No warranty

The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind — express, implied, or statutory — including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. We work hard on sourcing and corrections (see the editorial policy) but we do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific claim on it is complete or current as of the moment you read it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ennis Studio, its owners, and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including lost profits, business interruption, or loss of data — arising out of or in connection with your use of the site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the site is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ennis Studio and its contributors from any claim or demand arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the site, or content you submit to the site.

DMCA / copyright complaints

If you believe content on the site infringes your copyright, please follow the process on the DMCA page.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the site will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Kent County, Michigan, and you consent to their jurisdiction and venue — except where you have non-waivable rights to bring proceedings in your local jurisdiction.
